Most of your students probably love fast food, and maybe it’s your guilty pleasure too. But do they know what’s in it? This no-prep required, multi-disciplinary project will keep them engaged as they learn. Flexibility is a key part of this lesson package. As an editable PowerPoint, you can add local franchise menus to suit anyone’s taste. No time for that? No problem. We have filled this with globally popular food, so you can just open the file and go with no prep. With four 60-90 minute lessons and a class to present results, everyone will be busy for at least a week. Your kids will accomplish three goals in the course of this project: 1.) Students will learn to use a range of mathematical strategies to understand the nutritional value of fast food. 2.) They will gain awareness of the nutritional value of fast food and identify how much exercise is required to burn off all those calories. 3.) Students will start to think twice about eating fast food once they understand the long-term effects it can have on their bodies.
